“The Church on the Hill”
In 1988, the Parish of the Holy Cross began as a small congregation that held its services in a room at the Cleary School of the Deaf on Smithtown Boulevard in Nesconset.
Through God’s Blessings of a growing church population and its vision for the future, a warm, inviting, Christ-centered church serving a Catholic Community for Nesconset and its surrounding areas, was built, nestled within the trees at the top of a hill on Nichols Road.
Through the years, the Parish of the Holy Cross has established itself, not just as the contemporary building on the hill with big glass windows, that invites the outside in, but as the people who gather and worship within its walls, inviting those who are on the outside to come in as they are, to share in the blessing of a community that holds its arms wide open to welcome you home.
